A while ago Mary from Melange contacted me on Facebook to say hello. A fellow photographer from a nearby town – I had recently become familiar with her when her wall display of her gorgeous images in her office went viral. We became facebook friends and now months later we finally did a meet-up. She called a friend who had 2 girls and met at a local park. As I drive up to what I thought was the address – which was a field with no trees, tiny tike soccer players, and a plastic looking playground – I became concerned. With dismay – I say this can’t be it… but quickly add – We are MEETING with Mary Schannen – so I am sure she can make it beautiful. With a quick phone call , we realize we were at the wrong park and quickly drive to our real location. I actually found this new location to be filled with a ton of backlight – which was out of my creative comfort zone. YES – I love Sunflare back light – but true back light was relatively new to my shooting repertoire. It was defintely a challenge – but with challenges comes new learning opportunities. I now embrace backlight of any kind. Here are some of my favorite images from this shoot.
Jordan M. - These pictures came out beautiful, Liz! Such an awesome series with great variety! Love them! 🙂
DebZorn - These are lovely. The back lighting is dreamy. (I can’t get good exposure on back lit images to save my life.) Thank you for sharing.
Mary Schannen - Oh MY GOODNESS! You ROCKED these! I’m dying over that bw one of ms. S so much! I had so much fun and we have to do it again SOON!
