So we have one rule – it was one I learned from watching my sister parent her own children. It is this – you must have one sport – something you love. For my son it is soccer. He lives and breathes soccer. For Emerson… she’s a little like Goldilocks when it comes to sports. “Its a little too hot” , “It’s a little too cold”, “It’s a little too fast” – you catch my drift. So this year we tried to focus on the in-door sports- Gymnastics and Dance and yesterday was RECITAL DAY. Technically they said “no cameras” – But that’s like telling a dancer that they can’t dance when the music starts playing. I just can’t help myself – I am an artist and when the light starts to shine and begins to highlight these incredible performers – Well, I just couldn’t help but capture how beautiful it looked. Here are just a few of my favorites. The first few of the little girls I took on rehearsal day (where cameras are allowed) for a fellow mom struggling to take pictures while holding a squirmy toddler and since I had a sitter babysitting my own squirmy toddler, I did what I would hope someone would do for me and offered to snap a few for her.
